About EcoFurball
Eco-friendly pet care, without the guesswork
EcoFurball helps pet owners make more informed choices about toys, feeding, grooming and everyday supplies — with animal wellbeing at the centre of every decision.
We believe caring for a pet and reducing unnecessary waste can go together. But a product is not automatically safe because it is natural, or sustainable because its packaging has a green label. Our job is to explain the details and limitations so you can choose what makes sense for your animal and your routine.
What you’ll find here
We publish practical guides rather than one-size-fits-all lists of supposedly green products. Start with the topic that answers your question.

How we assess products and advice
EcoFurball’s comparisons are research-led. We use available product details and relevant published guidance to explain what we can establish, where the evidence is limited and when an environmental claim needs a closer look.
Start with the animal
Species, size, chewing or play behaviour, health and safe handling come before any environmental claim.
Look beyond the label
We look for material composition, product instructions and evidence behind terms such as natural, recycled or compostable.
Consider how long it works
Cleaning, durability, replaceable parts and the point at which damage makes continued use unsafe all matter.
Check the end of the story
We distinguish a material claim from what can actually be recycled, collected or composted in a reader’s area.
What “research-led” means
We want readers to know the difference between evidence, a seller’s description and firsthand experience. A featured product is not a claim that EcoFurball has tested it.
Information we may use
- Manufacturer and retailer details: material claims, stated percentages, dimensions and care instructions, attributed to their source.
- Published guidance: information from veterinary bodies, regulators and other relevant organisations to explain general safety and environmental considerations.
- Practical comparisons: the intended use, limitations and evidence available for each option.
What we do not assume
- That a product has been personally purchased, used or tested unless the article explicitly describes the method and observations.
- That a source organisation has endorsed a particular product simply because we cite its guidance.
- That a single natural or recycled component makes the entire product safe, plastic-free, compostable or environmentally preferable.
Transparency, updates and corrections
Details change
Product formulations, prices, versions and delivery destinations can change. When an article gives a date for a specification check, it refers to the information available at that time. Check the exact item and seller before ordering.

Affiliate links and corrections
Some product links may earn us a commission. That relationship does not establish that an item is safe or suitable. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how those links work.
If you spot an error, send the article URL and supporting information through our Contact page. We can review and update the guidance.
